
Optivision provides both Private and NHS eye examinations.
Our comprehensive eye examination covers the following:
| History & symptoms | A full history is taken from each patient to find out the patients particular visual needs. | | Vision Tests | Vision without and with best possible prescription is recorded. | | Motility | The actions of all ocular muscles. | | Colour Vision | Each eyes ability to verify different colours is checked for abnormality. | | Ocular Health | A detailed examination of the outside and inside of each eye is taken. | | Glaucoma Tests | The eye pressure is measured & field of vision recorded. | | Diabetic Eye Examination | All diabetic patients are offered the chance to have their pupils dilated with eye drops and have the back of each eye photographed. By doing so the retina can be examined in detail and monitored for diabetic retinopathy. | | Paediatric Tests | Children can be tested at any age and should be tested as soon as possible. |
NHS Entitlements:
Check the guidelines below to see if you are eligible for a free eye examination from the NHS:
AGE:
- If you are under the age of 16
- If you are aged 60 or over
- If you are a full time student aged 16,17 or 18
HEALTH:
- If you are registered blind / partially sighted
- If you suffer from diabetes / glaucoma
- If you are aged 40 or over and are the parent, brother, sister or child of a person with glaucoma
- If you have been prescribed with complex lenses under the NHS optical voucher scheme.
INCOME: If you or your partner receives
- Income support
- Job seekers allowance
or is in possession of:
- a working families tax credit NHS exemption certificate
- a disabled persons tax credit NHS exemption certificate
If you receive a low income you may be eligible to NHS help but you must complete an HC1 form, which is available in store.
